Technical Head of Division - General Insurance

Stefan is a qualified actuary and the technical head of the Bank’s General Insurance Division. He is responsible for thematic and horizon-scanning activities that impact the general insurance industry.

Stefan is also responsible for stress testing, sectorial analysis and initiatives that assist in identifying sector-wide risks – for instance, monitoring pricing levels and terms and conditions in the London market. He is also responsible for promoting the use of analytics based on the new Solvency II reporting metrics, within the Bank’s supervision area and externally. Stefan is currently developing a statistical release that will allow us to share some sector analysis externally based on Solvency II returns for the insurance sector.

Before he joined the Bank, Stefan was Head of Actuarial Risk Modelling at Allianz Global Corporate and Speciality, and most recently a director at KPMG.
