Stephen manages a team in our financial stability area with responsibility for designing macroeconomic stress tests and for stress test modelling strategy. In his previous roles, he has been responsible for delivering macrofinancial surveillance work to support the Financial Policy Committee, and scenarios and forecasts of the UK economy for the Monetary Policy Committee. Stephen has had diminishing time to spend on research in recent jobs, but is still interested in discussing topics of mutual interest with experts outside the Bank of England. His areas of interest include the UK’s external imbalances, national accounts methodology and macro modelling and forecasting.
