Andrew sets out why the stability of payments matters to the Bank of England, and why, given the complexity of payment systems today, change is welcome. He touches on some of the recommendations set out in the Payment Strategy Forum’s final strategy, before introducing the Bank’s review of its own settlement platform, the real-time gross settlement system (RTGS).
