Biography

Term of appointment: 1 September 2019 - 31 August 2022

Dame Colette Bowe was Chairman of the UK Banking Standards Board from 2014 to 2019.

She has previously held a number of senior board roles across various sectors, including investment management, banking, private equity and transport. She was chairman of Ofcom from 2009 to 2014. 

She is a Trustee of the Nuffield Foundation and the IFRS Foundation.

After an early career in Whitehall, she worked as an executive in City regulation and asset management.

She has a particular interest in education and previously chaired the Council of Queen Mary, University of London and the music education body ABRSM. She is a governor of City of London Academy Highbury Grove and is a member of the Steering Committee of the Qatar Centre for Global Banking and Finance, Kings College London.

She has a BSc, MSc and PhD in economics, all from London University.
