We recognise that there is a large untapped talent pool of high-calibre men and women who have taken time out of their careers for a variety of different reasons.
Therefore, in 2018 the Bank collaborated with Women Returners, a specialist return-to-work organisation, to create the first Bank of England Career Returners Programme to attract and support returning professionals.
The programme offers returners support throughout their fixed term contracts and has been a huge success with returners joining a wide range of Directorates and a consistently high conversion rate from FTC to permanent contracts.

- To qualify applicants must have had a career break of two or more years.
- Flexible working options will be available.
During 2023 this programme underwent an extensive review and will be relaunched in 2024.
