About the event

Date: 31 October 2025 1.30pm to 2.30pm

Monetary policymaking at the Bank of England is being reshaped to give greater consideration to a wider range of economic perspectives and analytical inputs, following the Bernanke review.

Given the wider range of inputs that are now informing policy, the MPC’s communications are adapting, including through an updated Monetary Policy Report and a new Monetary Policy Overview.

We held an on-the-record stakeholder briefing to discuss these changes to the MPC’s communications. The briefing was hosted by our Director of Monetary Analysis Fergal Shortall, Director of Monetary Policy Transformation Iain de Weymarn and Director of Markets Andrea Rosen.
