Overview
The Commercial Property Forum monitors developments and assesses underlying structural issues in the commercial property sector, seeking to identify market risks that could evolve into broader financial stability risks and obstacles to economic growth in the UK.
People working in the sector lead Forum discussions and make up the majority of its attendees. We organise its meetings. They are hosted by our Executive Director for Financial Stability Strategy and Risk. The Forum usually meets once a quarter. Sometimes there are extra meetings to examine specific topics if issues emerge.
We set up the Forum in 1993. It works alongside the Residential Property Forum that we founded in 2010. Both forums inform the work our Financial Policy Committee does to maintain financial stability in the UK.
