Other than Threadneedle Street, where can Bank of England withdrawn banknotes be exchanged?

We publish details of a selection of requests made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, and the information we disclose in response.

Disclosure:

All genuine Bank of England notes that have been withdrawn from circulation retain their face value for all time and can only be exchanged at the Bank of England (the ‘Bank’) Head Office in London.  Any such notes may be presented for payment either in person, or sent to the Bank by post.  There is no fee for this service.
