Approved Persons applications for 2014 and 2013

We publish details of a selection of requests made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, and the information we disclose in response.

Subject/Request Details:  ‘How many approved persons applications were received in 2014? How did that compare to 2013, 2012 and 2009? How many of the approved persons applications were interviews conducted for in 2014? How did that compare to 2013, 2012 and 2009? How many approved persons applications were accepted, how many were rejected, and how many were withdrawn in 2014, both in terms of total applications and those applications that went through the interview process?  How did that compare to 2013, 2012 and 2009?

Disclosure:

Prior to 1 April 2013 approved persons applications were processed by the Financial Services Authority (‘FSA’).  The Prudential Regulation Authority (‘PRA’) is only able to provide comparative data for 2013 covering the period from 1 April to 31 December 2013 following the creation of the PRA.  Please note that not all applications received are concluded in the same calendar year.

The PRA received 2052 approved persons applications in 2014, this compares to 1499 received in 2013*.

The PRA conducted 60 interviews in 2014, this compares to 45 interviews that were conducted in 2013*.
