People employed by the Bank on zero hours contracts

We publish details of a selection of requests made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, and the information we disclose in response.
Date released: 5 February 2015

Disclosure:

The Bank of England does not employ any people on zero hours contracts.  We do, however, have 13 workers on casual contracts at our Sports Centre in Roehampton.  These are workers to whom hours are offered as and when they arise, for example, to cover when staff are on holiday, away due to illness or at busy times.  The Sports Centre is under no obligation to offer any hours and the workers are not under any obligation to accept any hours offered.  As these staff are contracted to the Bank, but not employed by the Bank, they are not covered by our grading system.
