Membership of the Bank of England Pension Scheme as at February 2020

The total number of current employees who have opted out of the Bank of England’s (the ‘Bank’s’) Pension Scheme is 104, out of 4,356 active members.

The average age of employees currently opting out of the Bank’s Pension Scheme is 57.

Of the 104 current employees who have opted out of the Bank’s Pension Scheme, 22 are female, 81 are male and one employee has chosen not to say.

The average age of Bank employees accruing benefits under the Bank’s Pension Scheme is 40.
