Last banknotes featuring the image of HM Queen Elizabeth II

Freedom of Information rules mean that, as a public authority, the Bank of England is obliged to disclose certain types of information, both proactively and on request.

‘…the last bank notes were to feature the Queen printed in De La Rue?

The last batch of £5 notes with the Queen on were minted in July 2018, £10 notes in December 2020, £20 notes in October 2022 and £50 notes in April 2022.

On those runs, what were the prefixes (first two letters, first two numbers) of the last notes printed?’

The last printed cyphers (‘prefixes’) of Bank of England (the Bank) banknotes featuring the image of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II are as follows:

These notes entered the Bank’s stocks, will be stored, and will enter general circulation as and when required by public demand for banknotes.
