The Bank’s Mutually Agreed Resignation (MAR) Scheme

Freedom of Information rules mean that, as a public authority, the Bank of England is obliged to disclose certain types of information, both proactively and on request.

Date: 11 March 2026

Disclosure:

‘The number of staff, by grade who have applied to the resignation scheme’

‘If at the time of response available, the number of applications rejected and accepted, by grade, respectively.’

The table below shows the number of eligible applications submitted to the MAR scheme by the date and time of application close, along with the number of applications accepted and rejected by the Bank. Please note that some applications were withdrawn following the initial application; therefore, the total number of applications may not equal the sum of those accepted and rejected for each grade.
