The final changeover around the turn of this year was a complex project, and required extensive planning and preparation. This edition describes the changeover in detail and sets out the lessons learnt, drawing on discussions with both euro-area authorities and commercial banks, before considering the lessons for any changeover in the UK, if it were to decide to join.
