Bank of England's Chief Legal Adviser

The Bank of England’s Chief Legal Adviser, Graham Nicholson, has today announced that he plans to retire on 30 April 2015.

Governor Mark Carney said: "I am grateful to Graham for his tremendous contribution to the Bank and the wider public service. Graham has been a valued adviser to me and to the former Governor, Lord King, and his insights and judgement have helped lead the Bank through a period of significant legislative change. On behalf of everyone here at the Bank, I would like to wish Graham the best for the future."
