Carers week

We are marking Carers Week by highlighting the support available to our staff who are carers.

During this week members of our Carers Network are hosting coffee sessions to provide more information on the recent launch of our carers passport, which can be used by staff with caring responsibilities to gain agreement in advance with their line manager about any adjustments they may need to their ways of working.

Carers Week is an annual campaign initiated with the aim of raising awareness of caring, highlight the challenges carers face and recognising the contribution they make to families and communities.

Our Carers Network, who will soon celebrate their two year anniversary, helps to provide support and advice to those across the Bank who are carers. They host events whereby our staff can share experiences about how to balance caring and work responsibilities.

Commenting on Carers Week 2017, David Rule, Executive Sponsor of our Carers Network, said:

‘The Bank has recently introduced a number of initiatives to support carers amongst its employees, including a Carers' Framework and Carers' Passport.  With the ageing population, numbers of people with caring responsibilities will continue to increase. Supporting carers is not only the right thing to do but also a key part of the Bank’s inclusion strategy, helping us to attract and retain the best people.’
