News release

Hanneke was appointed to Court as a non-executive director on 1 June 2019.

Bradley Fried, the Chair of Court said “Hanneke has been an outstanding member of Court, bringing much expertise and a lively interest to bear on our work at the Bank. Court congratulates her on her appointment but is sorry that it means that she has to leave the Bank”

Note to editors

The Bank’s rules for Court members precludes their having any role in an institution regulated by the Bank. Hanneke’s present role at Newton Investment Management does not breach that requirement, but her new role, which starts on 1 October, will make her an executive officer of The Bank of New York Mellon, which operates a bank branch that is regulated by the Bank as Prudential Regulation Authority.
