Bank of England announces new office space in Leeds

The Bank of England has secured a new long-term premises in Leeds, marking a major milestone in its commitment to build its presence in the region. 

The new office at Capitol House in Bond Court will provide a modern space that supports collaboration and innovation, and meets the Bank’s ambition to be able to deliver its key central banking functions across both its London and Leeds Offices.It will facilitate the Bank’s growing headcount in the city and, in time, will replace its current base at Yorkshire House.  

The new office will strengthen the Bank’s ability to connect with organisations across West Yorkshire and the wider region, deepening its understanding of local economies, building on the work of the Bank’s Agency network, and ensuring voices from across the UK are reflected in its work. 

With just under 300 colleagues based in the city, the Bank is already tapping into the wealth of talent available in the region helping it better reflect the people, businesses and communities it serves.   

Governor of the Bank of England, Andrew Bailey, said:

We have seen first-hand the value of the exceptional talent, expertise and fresh perspectives that Leeds and the wider region offer. Moving to Capitol House strengthens our presence across the UK and helps ensure the Bank better reflects and represents the people, businesses and communities we serve.”
