A paper prepared in the Bank of England in consultation with H.M. Treasury, as one of a number of papers presented at a conference held at Hove in October on the subject "Radcliffe - ten years after". The paper will be re-printed in a book entitled Money in Britain 1959/69, to be published by the Clarendon Press in March 1970.
