The governor note that progress towards stabilisation is being made, and that this is an important first stem towards achieving a balance market and macroeconomic policy adjustment and official and private financing. He concludes by reviewing estimates od the impact of the Asian problems on world growth. He argues that it is in the interests of the industrialised countries, as well as the Asian economies themselves, that the latter recover as quickly as possible and that the receive help towards that end.
