Andrew Gimber

Andrew is an economist in the Bank of England’s Macroprudential Strategy and Support Division. He provides analysis to help inform the Financial Policy Committee’s decisions, including on the countercyclical capital buffer (CCyB). His research interests include financial crises, the effects of prudential regulation, and macroeconomics.

Andrew joined us in 2015. He started in the Resolution Directorate, where he worked mainly on resolution policy for central counterparties (CCPs). He has a PhD in economics from the European University Institute.
