Research Economist - Central Bank Digital Currency Division
Biography
Benjamin is a Research Economist in the Central Bank Digital Currency Division. He joined the bank in July 2023. Prior to this, Benjamin worked as a Senior Research Economist at the Center for Excellence in Finance and Economic Research (CEFER) at the Bank of Lithuania and as a Lecturer at Vilnius University. He was also a member of the Eurosystem MPC’s Expert Group on Central Bank Digital Currencies.
Benjamin’s research is currently focused on CBDC and Digital Currencies. His past research has included topics involving financial intermediation, banking regulation and firm financing.
Benjamin received his PhD from University College London. He also holds an MSc from University College London and an MA from the University of Oxford.
