Biography

Marco is a Senior Economist in the International Directorate at the Bank of England. Prior to joining his current team, he worked on trade-related issues and forecasting in the Monetary Analysis Directorate. He was also previously the advisor to MPC member Professor Jonathan Haskel.

Marco is also currently a DPhil (PhD) candidate in Economics at the University of Oxford, under the supervision of Professor Andrea Ferrero.

Through his research, he tries to shed light on macroeconomic issues using insights from granular microdata, such as firm-level information. This also helps him build more realistic models in his theoretical work.

Research interests: Macroeconomics with Granular Data, Monetary Economics, International Economics and Trade.
