Biography

Marco is a Senior Economist in the research team of International Directorate at the Bank of England. Prior to joining his current team, he worked on trade-related issues and forecasting in the Monetary Analysis Directorate. He was also previously the advisor to MPC member Professor Jonathan Haskel.

Marco is also currently a DPhil (PhD) candidate in Economics at the University of Oxford, under the supervision of Professor Andrea Ferrero and Professor Francesco Zanetti.

Through a mix of empirical methods and modelling, his research combines microeconomic data and granular insights to shed light on pressing macroeconomic questions, such as issues in geoeconomics, trade fragmentation and monetary policy. 

Research interests: Macroeconomics and Finance, International Economics, International Trade.
