Biography

Saleem Bahaj is a Research Manager at the Research Hub of the Bank of England. Saleem joined the Bank in 2014 following completion of his PhD at the University of Cambridge. His research spans a range of topics focusing on macro-finance. His recent research has focused on upon how corporate and balance sheets influence the transmission macroeconomic and policy shocks. Prior to joining the Research Hub Saleem worked in the Bank’s macroprudential strategy division and spent time working at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), World Bank and European Central Bank during his doctoral studies.

Saleem is a member of the Centre for Macroeconomics and the Central Bank Research Association.
