Speaker requests
Please follow the steps below and follow this centralised process to request a Bank of England or PRA Speaker. If you are requesting a speaker from our Agency network please see the separate section below. To request a speaker for a school please visit: Request a speaker for your school.
- all speaker requests (apart from Agency requests) must be made using the Speaker request form – if you have a pre-existing relationship with the speaker and have contacted them directly, please also complete the form
- please submit the form 2 to 6 months before the event
- please fill out the form as accurately as possible and include:
- the topic of the speech/panel you would like a speaker for
- a copy of the draft/final agenda or link to the webpage
- details of confirmed speakers
- detail of potential attendees/invitees and anticipated audience size
- whether the event is on the record, off the record or Chatham House Rules
- whether press will be invited/in attendance
Requesting an Agency speaker

Speaker request guidelines
Due to the large volume of speaker requests we receive we cannot guarantee that the person requested will be available. However, if we see merit in our participation we will do our best to provide a suitable speaker.
When deciding whether to accept an invitation to speak we consider the following:
- how topical the event is to the Bank of England and its priorities
- availability of the speaker
- suitability of the audience
- organiser
- number of requested speakers (we normally only offer one speaker per event)
- location: the location impacts time and cost
- diversity and inclusivity of the event and speakers

We aim to get back to you as soon as possible however this may take up to 3 weeks.
