Capital issuance statistics consist of UK-based primary market issuance of bonds, commercial paper and equity, representing finance raised in the UK.

Overview

Gross issuance by UK residents was £24.4bn in August, £11.6bn lower than in July and £16.0bn lower than the previous six month average.
Bonds accounted for £11.2bn of issuance in August, compared to £18.0bn in July. Commercial paper accounted for£12.6bn compared to £15.3bn in July.
PNFC bond issuance was £0.3bn in August compared to £3.2bn in July and OFC bond issuance was £2.5bn compared to £5.1bn in July.
