Details of our secure email methods

The Data and Statistics Division has looked at software solutions that provide encryption for email communications including email attachments. We support the use of PGP (Pretty Good Privacy), PDF Messenger and TLS (Transport Layer Security). These provide a mechanism to enable secure communications with external recipients who do not already have an email security solution.

Item five of our Statistical Code of Practice covers our commitment to ensuring the confidentiality of the statistical data supplied to us and we feel that this initiative will help us to further strengthen our processes.
