Deputy Agent, Scotland

Biography

Adam joined the Bank’s Agency Network as Deputy Agent for Scotland in November 2023. He is an applied economist with expertise in business and industry modelling and analysis. 

Prior to joining the Agency, Adam led Fraser of Allander Institute's Business Analysis and Engagement work, including leading its quarterly business survey of Scottish firms. Adam was also a lecturer on Strathclyde University’s MSc. Applied Economics programme. 
  
Adam has a first class honours degree in economics from Strathclyde University, achieving the highest grade in the 2018 cohort. Adam also holds a Masters in Economics from the University of Edinburgh. 
 
Adam is passionate about diversity and inclusion and has held many roles throughout his career which aim to improve equality in the economics profession. Adam previously chaired Strathclyde University's LGBTQI+ Staff and Postgraduate Network and led the Economic Futures Programme, a project that aims to increase the capacity of applied economics in Scotland and make the profession more diverse. Adam is on the steering groups of the Bank's LGBT+ Network and the European Committee for LGBT+ Economists.
