Professor Julia Black is an external member of the Prudential Regulation Committee and an external member of the SONIA Oversight Committee.
She is Director of Innovation and a Professor of Law at the London School of Economics and Political Science and a leading academic in regulation. Julia is a Fellow of the British Academy, and chair of its Audit Committee. She is also an independent Board member of UK Research and Innovation, which is responsible for research and innovation funding in the UK.
Julia was Pro Director for Research at LSE from January 2014 to January 2019, and interim Director of LSE from September 2016 - September 2017.
From 2014 - 2018 Julia was a lay member of the Board of the Solicitors Regulation Authority and chaired its Policy Committee.
Julia has a law degree and PhD from Oxford University.
