2026 Firm Feedback Exercise
Your feedback can help inform how the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA) supervises firms and delivers its regulatory objectives.
As the regulatory landscape continues to evolve, we are keen to hear firms’ views on what is working well and where we can improve. This year's Firm Feedback Exercise will invite you to provide your feedback on a range of topics including supervisory effectiveness, regulatory communication, engagement with firms, coordination with other regulators, data requests, prudential policy, and the PRA's secondary competitiveness and growth objective.
As in previous years, responses will be reviewed by a team independent of day-to-day supervision, with the opportunity for follow-up discussions held with a selection of firms. Findings from the Firm Feedback Exercise will be reported to PRA senior management and the Prudential Regulation Committee. A summary of the results will be published in the PRA’s Annual Report and on the PRA website.
The survey will be launched in the second half of August. We greatly value your perspective and encourage you to take part.

CP11/26 – A tailored regime for captive insurance
14 July 2026
With the goal of creating an internationally competitive UK market for captives, the PRA and the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) (the regulators) have developed proposals for a tailored UK captive insurance regime. The proposed regime covers single-parent captives, with plans to extend to other structures in due course. It is separate from the UK Solvency II framework and, drawing on extensive industry engagement, includes:
- proportionately lower capital and reporting requirements;
- a flexible capital resources framework;
- faster authorisation processes; and
- tailoring of other regulatory requirements to reflect the typically lower risks of captives.
CP12/26 – Insurance friendly societies, amalgamations and transfers
14 July 2026
The amalgamations and transfers of friendly societies (FSocs) form an important part of healthy market dynamics within the insurance sector. These transactions are subject to statutory requirements under Part VIII of the Friendly Societies Act 1992Opens in a new window (FSocs Act), which provide important safeguards for members and policyholders. Industry feedback indicates that firms may need support from external advisers to interpret and navigate those requirements effectively.
The PRA’s proposals in this consultation paper (CP) are intended to assist firms in understanding how the legislative requirements may translate into a typical sequence of steps when undertaking an amalgamation or transfer. It also recognises that firms may need flexibility to take a different approach where appropriate.
