Opportunities for economists at the Bank of England

Quarterly Bulletin 1985 Q3
Published on 01 September 1985

The Bank of England is likely to have vacancies in the short and medium term for well-qualified economists to work in its Economics and International Divisions on fixed-term contracts, probably of two or three years. The divisions are engaged in a wide range of policy analysis and research related to the United Kingdom and world economies and to financial markets, domestic and international. They employ some sixty economists, including members of the permanent staff and those working on contract. Applicants for contract posts will be expected to have a higher degree in economics and some relevant experience in research, higher education, industry or commerce. Successful candidates are likely to have worked in the United Kingdom in recent years. Salaries will reflect age and experience.
