The Bank of England will have a considerable number of vacancies for economists in 1988 and succeeding years. The openings will include relatively specialised posts in the Economics Division and International Divisions but also a wide range of central banking jobs for which economics is a particularly desirable qualification. Many vacancies will be suitable for new graduates and those acquiring higher degrees; there will also be a few for which relevant experience in research, higher education or industry (including especially the financial sector) will be desirable.
